Happy birthday to me... I just got a sweet new Stumpjumper. I'll be a little more careful then when I had a mountian bike 20 years ago, but should be fun exploring the Los Gatos hills.
Specialized rocks!

Come play tonight with me, J/A and Ana. It will be mellow (on the downhill). J/A is a virtual dirt virgin.
depart 4:15-4:30 Steven's Creek Caynon Rd (Foothill turns into this)and Mt Eden.
Going up Montebello to Page Mill then descending Steven's creek Canyon (mostly fireroad with some singletrack).
Just grab her lightly by the ears and point her in the right direction. Relax, keep the head up, and loom where you want to go. That Specialized dual suspension will take care of the rest.
Just make sure you get it set up right or she will buck you off.
Remember all the stuff you did on your Schwinn when you were 12? Like jumps and berms, which lead to long stories to your parents about how the bike broke when you were just riding along? Well, nowadays you spend about about 100 times what that Schwinn cost for a full-suspension MTB and you get to play like a kid again!
And the long stories you tell will be to your wife, but if you're clever you get her out there too so she can have fun and break stuff like she never got to do when she was a kid.

tahoe, nice idea, just a bit far and chilly.
ja- we'll have to do some rides soon.
wg-she has one and we are going for our first one this weekend.
...epic, 4-hour adventures together!
May as well get a camelback or two while you're at it.
I bombed the snob hill parking lot last night and cant wait to get it muddy this weekend.....
this bike may lead to the end of the road career, I can get used to this lean back suspension thing, so so nice....
