TOC...VS...Snelling

Ok yesterdays stage was brutal. 135 miles of rain and headwind down HWY 1 sucks! I would never want to have their job on a day like they had yesterday!

Versus just plain sucks! Granted there wasn't a whole lot of interesting parts to the HWY 1 stage to SLO, but come on...wtf?? I resisted watching the stage on cycling news so I could see it on TV. There were more commercials then a half time show for the Superbowl..

com·mer·cial (kə-mûr'shəl) Pronunciation Key
adj.
Of or relating to commerce: .
Engaged in commerce:
Involved in work that is intended for the mass market:
Of, relating to, or being goods, often unrefined, produced and distributed in large quantities for use by industry.
Having profit as a chief aim: a commercial book, not a scholarly tome.
Sponsored by an advertiser or supported by advertising: commercial television.

It pissed me off more then when I went to see the finish of the TOC in San Jose. All you could hear 15 minutes before the finish was the announcer for the BMX whatever yelling out the names of the tricks they were doing for the crowd of 3. Who gives a rats ass about the BMX??? I would have much rather heard what was going on with Mt Hamilton and Sierra from Dave Towle.

I mean really, how many people are going to move for frickin Modesto city of 200,000 people know for its wonderful history, great industry and agriculture???? No I don't want any Bank of America ads either, of bankruptcy help, etc. There was all of about 5 minutes of coverage for the hr. What a waste~!!!!!

Tour of Snelling, CA weather report!!!

At the finish in Sacramento this year there were VIP tents along one side of the road from just past the S/f line all the way back to the 200m sign so there was no way to see the finish. The other side of the street has a narrow sidewalk against buildings and it was 3-4 people deep so no way to see there either. So we watched the race finish on the big screen TV's they had. One of the 2 screens was only visible to the VIP tents, which was dumb because each tent already had it's own big TV.

After the finish they restricted who could stand in the street in front of the awards stage so maybe 100 people got to see the presentations. Everyone else had a possible view completely obstructed by the (empty) VIP tents. Last year it was possible for several hundred people to see the presentations.

Yesterday's VS coverage didn't include an interesting moment that was shown on the live feed (when it was working) at the Amgentour web site. Levi rode up to the front of the pack and made obvious gestures to his team and everyone else that they were no longer going to do all the work at the front. That's when CSC finally came up to do something useful.

You want my rental in Modesto? We are dropping it like a bad habit.

There are 3 foreclosures within 500 meters.

Motown is going down.

It was great watching stage 2 from Sierra Rd.

18mph winds? That's just like going uphill, right?

Modesto - prices keep falling, but still not tempting.

No race report for snelling. Let me guess you weren't in the break for last that your team blocked for. Forty year old men with blogs telling how great they are is pretty gay!

Thanks ANON.

Actually this year I missed the break was in a chase group and finished last in that group too.

Thanks for asking. I feel better & you?

i am curious if your anon is the same as my anon...

anyways an additional beef: wtf is up with the "healthnet move of the day" always being the "healthnet recap of who won"??
gimme a break!
