Baby dictionary

So I get a email from Tracey today who has been busy recovering from the back  surgery. She has been making great progress and has been telling me that we are going to need things for the baby.

Ok, she has a list of about 1000 and growing.

Swaddling blanket, premie outfits, boppy slip cover, breast pump (ok I can figure that one out)..
Gotta go shopping.

if you are going to keep "baby Speedplay (r)" legit, i believe that is:

-Kiddopotamus (r) SwaddleMe (r) adjustable infant wrap
-Carter (r) preemie outfits
-Boppy(r) boppy slip
-Playtex (r) Embrace Breast Pump

I had a boppy after my facial surgery. it's very cool. you can put the baby in it to support them and use it for nursing or even as a drink holder.

Given that my baby girl turns 6 weeks old tomorrow, I'll give you the run-down. I've also upgraded to Cat 1 status with the other 2 kids, so I've got some experience:

The skill of using a swaddling blanket is un-matched when it comes to soothing a newborn. Like wrapping a perfect burrito that won't leak/explode, a perfect swaddle makes the world right for the baby.

Bobby slip covers are sheek (sp?). We transformed our old boppy from a yucky red collage to a nice pick picture of perfection.

Get the best breast pump you can buy. It will make everybody, yes everybody, in the family much happier. You don't want an electrical malfunction that close to the lady parts.

Here are a few more things you'll want...

Diaper Genie - it's a slick disposal unit made for diapers...it could also work for dirty grease-filled rags from wrenching on the bike

Strollers - you'll find yourself going through a few of these as the baby becomes a woman (yeah, they grow up that fast)

Baby Bjorn - it's a backpack-like thing that you wear in front of you. I put Taylor in mine when I vacuum the house...it puts her to sleep quickly. You could also call this the 'babe magnet'; walk into any Los Gatos restaurant with the baby in one of these on a weekend night and all the cougar ladies will be all over you.

And watch out for new acronyms that will be floating around that now pertain to you. I'll let you figure out what a "dilf" is ;)
